Saying Goodbye to Summer

It is always a sad day for me when I open the door in the early morning and it’s chilly enough to require wearing a sweatshirt.

Even before the leaves start to turn those first cooler days are Mother Nature’s warning bell that our beloved summer at the Jersey Shore is in its annual swan song.

Of course, as a “Local” (meaning I actually live here), I know that the best beach days are really in September when the crowds have left, the sun is a little lower in the sky and the ocean is as blue as possible.

I hope you all will enjoy the waning days of your summer as we prepare for, as my friend Walt Hampton says, the vortex of September!
